Richard L. (Dick) Smith

Dick Smith Richard L. (“Dick”) Smith has been a practicing attorney and Partner at Bond, Schoeneck King, PLLC for over forty years. He is a graduate of Colgate University (B.A. 1968) and Cornell Law school (J.D. 1971), Order of the Coif. He formerly was a part-time instructor at Cornell Law School.

Dick is Co-Chair of Bond, Schoeneck & King’s Administrative – Legislative - Regulatory Practice Group and has been selected as a New York State “Super Lawyer,” He was elected a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation and Chaired the New York Bar Association Legislative Policy Committee for thirteen years. He was a Member of the New York State Secretary of State’s Corporations’ Advisory Task Force and Chair of its Interagency Subcommittee for thirteen years.

Dick is a member of the American, New York State, Albany County and Onondaga County Bar Associations, and a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Commercial Arbitrators.

He is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cazenovia College and long time Member of the LeMoyne College Board of Regents.

Dick is a life-long resident of Canastota, New York and graduated from Canastota High SchoolDick Smith Graduation in 1964. Dick is the only child of Lewis H. and Mildred D. Smith and was born in the Old Lenox Memorial Hospital. His father served as a Village of Canastota Trustee for many years and as a Town of Lenox Assessor for more than 35 years. His mother was the business manager of the former Lenox Memorial Hospital.
