School Budget Information

Budget Vote: Tuesday, May 18 - 12pm to 9pm

Please see below for important information about the 2021-2022 proposed school budget for Canastota Central School District.

Budget Adoption Date: April 13, 2021

Annual Budget Hearing: May 11, 2021 6:00 PM Auditorium 

Annual Budget Vote: May 18, 2021 12 Noon to 9:00 PM

Voting - In Person 
Voting will take place this year in-person at the Roberts Street Complex on the stage in the Auditorium and at South Side Elementary School in the Gymnasium.

Absentee Ballot 
Please call 315 - 697 - 6302 to request an absentee ballot.

Voter Qualifications: 
1) Citizen of U.S.
2) 18 years of age
3) Resident of school district for a period of 30 day prior to election
4) Registered within proper school election district

Student Daily Health Questionnaire

Complete by 7:30am daily.

Parents and Guardians
: Please complete the questionnaire for your child(ren) prior to reporting to school on days in which they will be in attendance in person. If you answer “yes” to any questions, do not send your child to school and notify your child's school nurse immediately. If you answer “no” to all the questions, please send your child to school. The preferred method to complete and submit this survey is online. Please click here to submit a response for each of your children.

Madison County DOH Offers 18 and up Will Call Option for COVID Vaccine

Madison County Department of Health (MCDOH) would like those who are 18 and older to know that we are establishing a will call list for COVID-19 Vaccine appointments. The will call list will be used when there are no shows or “extra” doses of vaccine are available. Please click here for more information.

The Board of Education remains committed to providing an opportunity for public participation in Board meetings. Please note that Canastota residents wishing to participate in the public comment portion of the Board meeting may submit their questions or comments by noon on Tuesday, April 13th to be included in the public meeting. Please send your comment to boe@canastotacsd.org and include your name, address and phone number in your correspondence in order to ensure that your comments or questions are included.

Canastota students now have access to the entire Mid-York Library System digital collection using their school library account through an expansion of an e-books partnership with Madison-Oneida BOCES.

McClowry Appointed as New SSES Principal
11/23/2020
The Canastota Board of Education appointed Vanessa McClowry on Tuesday as the new Principal of South Side Elementary School, which serves about 200 students in grades 2-3. McClowry was selected after an extensive search with 33 applicants vying for the position. She will assume her new role on December 7.
