In the recent District 7 Fall Meeting, 118 high school and middle-level FBLA members from Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer Counties gathered at Theodore's. The event was hosted by Canastota senior, Nicole Aumell, who currently serves as New York State FBLA State Treasurer. Nicole emceed the event, where students attended several workshops throughout the day.
The workshops included a presentation by Janet Callahan of Hancock Estabrook about conflict resolution, a workshop about the NYS FBLA Program of Work by Nicole Aumell, and a presentation on team building by CCSD teacher, Jacob Smith. Furthermore, Justin Muir, Canine Care Director at Clear Path for Veterans, presented about service dogs, PTSD, and volunteer opportunities at Clear Path. Justin, a US Marine Corps veteran, brought his service dog, Cannoli, as well.
Canastota High School sent six members, and 25 members from the Canastota middle-level chapters attended the event. The next district event, which will be the first round of elimination events leading up to the State Leadership Conference in April, will take place in February, where members will participate in district competitive events.
