Staff Spotlight - December 2023

Staff Spotlight - December 2023

In honor of their hard work, dedication, and compassion for CCSD and our students, we would like to spotlight Tami Patane, Sue Merrell, and Angela Bruno.

Tami Patane has been serving as the Superintendent's Secretary for 25 years. Her favorite part of the job has been assisting the district in many different ways and working with the staff. She has also enjoyed meeting administrators and people along the way. Mrs. Patane highlighted the wealth of knowledge she has acquired from working alongside various superintendents throughout her tenure.

When Mrs. Patane is not working, she loves spending time with her family and grandchildren, playing golf, and traveling.

Sue Merrell has been serving as the Treasurer of Canastota Central School District for 25 years. Her most cherished aspect of the job has been providing assistance to the retirees and staff in fulfilling their requirements. She also loves collaborating with people who are genuinely passionate about the district. Working alongside her team of co-workers, who are also her friends, and meeting new people along the way have been some of her other favorite things about the job.

When Mrs. Merrell is not working, she loves spending time with her family and friends, going for walks, playing golf, traveling, and enjoying her life. However, as she moves forward into the next chapter of her life, she stresses how much she will miss the district.

Angela Bruno has been teaching Spanish to junior high school students at Canastota Central School District for the past 10 years. She is certified to teach both Spanish and Health, holds a Master's degree in Health Education as well as Addictions Counseling, and has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (with a minor in Spanish). Ms. Bruno finds teaching to be a rewarding experience as she gets to witness the progress and growth of her students. She values the relationships she builds with them and feels grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives every day.

When she's not working, Ms. Bruno enjoys indulging in her hobbies which include tap dancing, going for walks, spending time at the beach, and watching her nieces play volleyball.
